NORFOLK, VA--Former ODU pitching standout Anthony Shawler combined with two othersto toss a seven inning no-hitter on June 30th for Oneonta in a 2-1 victory over Lowell in the New York-Penn League contest.
Shawler won the game in relief as he pitched the six inning between starter David Stokes,Formerly of Liberty University and Tyler Stohr. Shawler retired the side in order with oneStrikeout.
The two-time All-CAA pitcher and 2007 All-American is 1-2 with a 1.32 earned run average.He has 11 strikeouts in 13.2 innings of work. Oneonta is currently 8-10 and in third place in the NewYork-Penn League Stedler Division.
Dan Hudson and Dexter Carter are pitching for Great Falls Voyagers in the Pioneer League. Hudson,a two time All-CAA pitcher in 2007 and 2008 is 0-1 with a 1.64 ERA. He has 16 strikeouts in 11 innings of work and just three walks. Carter is 1-0 with a 1.54 ERA. He has 16 strikeouts in 11.2 innings of work and five walks. Great Falls (White Sox)is 11-7 and second in the Pioneer League North Division.
Ryan Bergh is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA. He has nine strikeouts in 10.1 innings of work with just twowalks. The Gulf Coast League Phillies are 10-4 and in first of the Northern Division.
