WILMINGTON, NC--UNC Wilmington scored a run in the seventh and eighth innings to defeat Old Dominion, 5-3 in the final regular season Colonial Athletic Association game. ODU is 25-25 overall and 14-14 in the CAA, while 26th ranked UNCW is 41-13-1 overall and 25-4-1 in the CAA.

ODU will be the fifth seed in next weeks CAA tournament and take on second seeded James Madison on Wednesday. UNCW will be the top seed and play sixth seed Towson who defeated Georgia State for the sixth and final tournament spot.

Trailing, 2-0 ODU scored a run in the sixth as Jimmy Miles singled home Gerard Hall to make it 2-1. The Seahawks came back with a run in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single by Nate Hall.

In the seventh, ODU scored two runs to tie the game at 3-3. Jake McAloose grounded into a doubleplay with the bases loaded to plate Bryan Cipolla. Gerard Hall then doubled home Anthony Shawler.

The Seahawks then scored in the seventh when Daniel Hargrave singled home Matt Holt to re-take the lead at 4-3. In the eighth UNCW scored again when Stanly Cody singled home Mark Carver for the final 5-3 score.

UNCW's Stephen Harrold came on in the ninth and retired ODU in order for his sixth save of the year.

Jimmy Miles and Gerard Hall each had two hits for ODU, while Jason Appel led UNCW with three hits. Bobby Leeper, Mark Carver, Cody Stanley each had two hits on the Day for UNCW.
