NORFOLK, VA-- The Old Dominion University Baseball Monarchs host a three-game Colonial Athletic Association series against the Huskies of Northeastern beginning Friday at 7 p.m. in the Bud Metheny BaseballComplex.

Northeastern's roster features the CAA's top pitcher in sophomore lefthanded reliever Sheldon McDonald who has a 7-1 record with a league best 2.70 earned run average. Northeastern is scheduled to throw JeffThomson (4-2, 4.42 ERA) Friday, Les Williams on Saturday and lefthander Ryan Quigley on Sunday.

Infielder Mike Lyon leads the Huskies in hitting at .388 along with ninehomers and 32 runs batted in. Catcher/Firstbaseman Frank Pesanello ishitting .276 with a team best 13 homers and 32 RBI.

Senior centerfielder Jimmy Miles continues to lead the Monarchs in hitting at .381 with a team best 49 runs scored, three triples and30 stolen bases. Miles currently ranks third nationally in thefts.Outfielder Max Most is second on the team in steals with 14 which ties him for second in the CAA with UNCW's Jason Apel. Miles ranks 29th nationally in runs scored.

designated hitter/outfielder David Burns leads the team with ninehomers and has 37 RBI, while senior firstbaseman Bryan Cipolla ishitting .346 with a team best 40 RBI.

Senior Ryan Bergh is second in the CAA with a 3.08 earned run average.Bergh is 4-4 overall with a team best three complete games. AnthonyShawler is 4-2 with a 5.07 ERA and is second in the CAA in strikeoutswith 65 in 55 innings of work. Dan Hudson leads the CAA with 75strikeouts in 60.1 innings of work along with a 3-4 record and a 5.22ERA.

Dan Hudson ranks 13th nationally in strikeouts per nine innings at 11.19while Shawler is 28th at 10.64.
