Barboursville, W.Va. - The Old Dominion University women's tennis team fell to No. 55 Marshall 6-1 Friday afternoon at the Huntington Tennis Club. The Lady Monarchs fall to 8-6 on the year, while the Thundering Herd improved to 10-3.
Joanna Dobrowolska and Daniela Cohen defeated Isabell Raich and Thaddea Lock 8-6 at No. 2 doubles, but Marshall won both of the remaining matches at No. 1 and No. 3 to secure the doubles point.
In singles action the Lady Monarchs fell in five of the six matches, despite taking the first set in two of the five losses. Freshman Nadine Fahoum continued to be the bright spot for ODU as she gave the Lady Monarchs their only point of the day with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Jeanne Schwartz. With the win Fahoum now stands at 13-1 on the year.
ODU has a three week layoff before returning to the court on Friday, March 28 at Richmond.
