Norfolk, Va. - The Old Dominion University women's tennis team returned to the winner's column on Sunday morning with a 5-2 victory over visiting St. John's at the Folkes-Stevens Indoor Tennis Center. With the win the Lady Monarchs improved to 8-5 on the year.
The Lady Monarchs began the day by capturing the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3.
In singles action ODU registered wins in four of the six matches, with two coming in straight sets. Freshmen Nadine Fahoum and Joanna Dobrowolska both improved to 11-1 on the season with their victories at No. 2 and No. 3 respectively. Charleen Haarhoff defeated Maria Zivicova 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 at No. 1 and at No. 6 Jana Kubicikova won 6-4, 6-2 over Jenny Yonkus.
