Norfolk, Va. - The Old Dominion University women's tennis team returned to the winner's column on Saturday with a 7-0 win over visiting Colonial Athletic Association opponent Georgia State. With the win the Lady Monarchs improved to 7-4 on the year, 2-0 in the CAA.
ODU captured the doubles point with an 8-4 at No. 1 and with a forfeit at No. 3.
In singles action the Lady Monarchs swept all six matches, two coming in straight sets and two that were come-from-behind victories. Barbara Costa and Daniela Cohen won in straight sets at No. 4 and No. 5 respectively, while their teammates Charleen Haarhoff (No. 1) and Nadine Fahoum (No. 2) rebounded to win despite dropping the first set. Joanna Dobrowolska won in three sets over Kiera Powell at No. 3, 6-1, 6-7, 1-0.
