Norfolk, Va. - The ODU women's tennis team dropped all three doubles matches to open the day and that proved to be the deciding factor as the Lady Monarchs fell to the visiting Owls of Temple 4-3 at the Folkes-Stevens Indoor Tennis Center.
The Owls captured the doubles point by dominating all three matches winning 8-6 at No.1, 8-2 at No. 2 and 8-4 at No. 3.
ODU got things going with a victory at No. 1 singles by Charleen Haarhoff who defeated Elyse Steiner 6-2, 7-5. Nadine Fahoum (No. 3) and Joanna Dobrowolska (No. 5) also earned straight set victories for the Lady Monarchs, but the Owls countered with wins at No.2, 4 and 6 to escape with the 4-3 victory.
