Final Stats

SHILSHOLE, Wash. -- After sitting through the first day with no wind, the three Lady Monarchs and the rest of the field at the ICSA Women's Singlehanded National Championship finished 10 complete races on the second day of the regatta. At the end of the second day, ODU sophomore Katrina Williams leads the fleet by 8 points, with 33 total points at the regatta. Freshman Stephanie Roble is also among the leaders, at 5th place overall with 65 points.

Williams is poised to bring ODU its 16th national championship in sailing and its fourth women's singlehanded title. She led by as many as 12 points during the day, and currently holds an eight-point spread between herself and the second place sailor, Jane Macky of Yale. Williams managed four wins and seven top three finishes in the 10 completed races to pace the field.

Not far behind is Roble, a true freshman at ODU this season. She has two wins in the regatta and has finished outside the top ten in just two heats so far. Roble can make a run at the title as well, as she is just 32 points behind her fellow Monarch.

Morgan Wilson is the third Lady Monarch sailor who qualified for nationals, making it the first time in ODU history that three Lady Monarchs qualified for the event. She is currently in 12th place with 108 total points. She had a high finish of 5th in the day and is just 16 points out of the top ten.
