HAMPTON, Va. -- The Monarchs co-ed sailing team finished in 5th place after 10 races at the Hampton Bay Days Regatta. In B division, sophomore skipper John Shockey and freshman crew Dixie House sailed to fourth with nine top five finishes.
Shockey and House finished with one win and never finished out of the top seven in the regatta. The 38 points was good four fourth place, just seven points back of Ocean County for second place in B division.
In A division, Mike Komar and Jane Bleakney finished 5th with 55 points. The pair finished with one second place effort and had eight finishes among the top six boats.
The team finished with 93 points, just five back of the fourth place UPenn team. The Monarchs are currently ranked 18th on the Sailing World College Rankings.
