WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Tom Curtis Memorial Regatta was shortened due to lack of wind on Sunday, leaving ODU in third place. The 18th ranked Monarchs were poised to make a move on Sunday to win the event, but with Mother Nature not cooperating the team would settle with a top three finish. Sophomores Alan Alkins and Amanda Rendall sailed to a third place finish in A division.

Alkins skippered with Rendall in A division and finished with 28 points. The two raced among the top eight the entire time and won one race. The boat also finished in second and third once each in the six completed races.

In B division, Thomas O'Bryan and Lisa Shapiro finished 5th with 24 points. The team was just four points out of second place and never finished out of the top five in the six races that were held.
