UNIVERSITY PARK, PA--Ohio State's Ryan Kustos scored on an assist from Eric Edwards with 25 minutes left in the match to lift the Buckeyes (2-0-1) to 3-2 win over 25th ranked(College Soccer News) Old Dominion (0-2-1) in the Penn State Nike Classic Friday night.
ODU scored first with 6:24 into the match as junior midfielder Trevor Banks on an assist from Nane Joseph. Ohio State, the 2006 Big Ten runners-up got the equalizer at 18:22 into the match by Patrick Roan on an assist from Tim Gabel.
The Monarchs re-took the lead on Trevor Banks' second goal at the 22:06 markand held the 2-1 lead at halftime. Three minutes into the second half, Andrew McGill scored on an assist from Tim Gabel to tie the match up at two. Kustos then scored thegame winner later in the half. All three of Ohio State's matches have been against nationally ranked teams.
ODU played a man down for over 55 minutes after Stig Haddal was red carded34:57 in the first half.
