RICHMOND, Va. -- Sophomore midfielder Titia Beek (Heiloo, Holland) recorded two goals, including the game-winner against then-No. 8 Virginia, and two assists for the Lady Monarch field hockey team last week en-route to being named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Week.
Beek was credited with the assist on the lone Old Dominion goal against top-ranked and two-time defending national champion Maryland. She followed with two goals and an assist in ODU's 3-1 victory over the Cavaliers, the Lady Monarchs' first victory of the season. Beek's first goal against Virginia proved to be the game-winner and was the first game-winner of her career.
The Lady Monarchs hit the road for their next four games. The Old Dominion field hockey team will travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan to face No. 15/12 Michigan on Friday, September 7th and No. 3/5 Connecticut in a neutral site contest on Saturday, September 8th.
