CHAPEL HILL, NC-- In a rematch of last year's NCAA second round matchup, the 20th ranked Old Dominion University Soccer Monarchs (0-1-1) and 16th ranked Tar Heels of North Carolina (0-1-1) fought to a 1-1 tie.in the North Carolina Nike Classic.

The Tar Heels took the lead late in the first half as Cameron Brown got a pass fromBill Dworsky and pumped it in from about five yards away.

With about 28 minutes left Monarch newcomer Ollie Lutton received a pass from DanHaywood and Yomby William off a corner to tie the match at one. Monarch sophomoreGoalkeeper Evan Newton played all 110 minutes (including two overtimes) in the netand made six saves.

Trevor Banks and David Horst both earned All-Tournament Honors.

Six other Monarchs, Lutton, Foglesong, A.J. Kulp, Nane Joseph, Yomby William andDavid Horst also played the entire 110 minutes. Trevor Banks played 100 minutes.ODU lost to third ranked Wake Forest Friday night in the tournament opener, 2-1.

The Monarchs return to action on Friday when they travel to State College, PA. to takeon Ohio State in Penn State's tournament.
