NORFOLK, VA- The ODU Baseball Monarchs (32-20/17-9) travel to Williamsburg, VA. to play theTribe of William and Mary (27-24/11-15) in thefinal regular season league series.
Thursday andFriday's games are slated to start at 7 p.m. at Plumeri Park. ODU is one game ahead of both VCU and Delaware in the CAA standings.
The Tribe are led by third baseman Greg Sexton who leads the CAA witha .452 batting average and 90 total hits. Catcher Tim Park is hitting.398 with 63 runs scored while firstbaseman Mike Sheridan leads all ofcollege baseball with just one strikeout in every 39.2 at-bats.
Mike Zahm continues to rank in the top ten of the CAA in hitting (.390),hits (75), runs scored (52), doubles(22), RBI (55).
On the mound, ODU has a 3.90 ERA led by starters Anthony Shawler (2.51),and Dan Hudson at 3.21. Shawler has 114 strikeouts in 96.2 innings of work.
ODU is scheduled to go with its normal rotation. Dan Hudson on Fridayagainst lefthander Pete Vernon. Anthony Shawler will throw on Saturdayagainst a starter yet to be determined and Ryan Bergh who has won hislast two outings will challenge lefthander Sean Grieve.
The CAA tournament begins Wednesday, May 23rd at Wilmington, NC., withthe top six teams.
