NORFOLK, VA-- The scheduled Colonial Athletic Association baseball game between Hofstra (6-9/1-2) and Old Dominion (14-9/2-1) for Friday evening has been rained out. The two teams will play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. at theBud Metheny Baseball Complex.
Mike Zahm leads the Monarchs with a .433 batting average, while junior DavidBurns is hitting .382 and leads the team with six homers and 34 runs batted in. FreshmanJake McAloose is third on the team with a .375 batting average and is second on the team in runs scored with 27. Chris Keenan leads the team in runs scored with 31.
On the mound, Anthony Shawler is 4-0 with a 2.72 earned run average to gowith 52 strikeouts in 36 innings. Dan Hudson is 3-2 with a 3.15 earned run average. ThePride of Hofstra, coached by Norfolk native Chris Dotolo (VWC '91) is led by Chris Mentrasti with a .365 batting average. Matt Prokopowicz leds the team with 15 runs batted in. Charlie Frago is 2-0 with a 3.86 earned run average.
