RADIO: For the 16th-straight season ESPN Radio (1310 am - Norfolk, Va.) will be broadcasting all the Lady Monarch contests. Thirteen-time sportscaster of the Year Tony Mercurio will call all the action. Former Lady Monarch and ODU Hall of Fame inductee, Adrienne Goodson and former assistant coach Susan Montgomery will join Mercurio and add color commentary at all home games at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. A monthly fee of $6.95 through the College Pass program, which also provides the audio and video broadcasts of over 100 colleges and universities, will allow fans to listen to the broadcast online at www.odusports.com.
TELEVISION: Today's game will be broadcast on Comcast SportsNet MidAtlantic (Ch. 35 - Hampton Roads). John Caslteberry will handle play-by-play duties with Jody Lavin-Patrick on color.
LAST TIME VS. KENTUCKY: Its been nearly 20 years since the Old Dominion Lady Monarchs and Kentucky Wildcats squared off. The last meeting took place back on January 23, 1987 at Memorial Coliseum with the Wildcats taking a 85-70 victory. ODU Hall of Famer and current co-color analyst on ESPN Radio 1310 a.m. for all women's home games, Adrienne Goodson, led the Lady Monarchs with 17 points from all the bench. 1992 Olympian Donna Harrington poured in 14 as did Bridget Jenkins. Kentucky was led by Jodie Whitaker with 21.

SERIES WITH KENTUCKY: Old Dominion leads the all-time series with Kentucky 7-2. The Lady Monarchs last faced the Wildcats back on January 23, 1987 as Kentucky snapped a four-game losing streak to Old Dominion with an 85-70 win in Lexington. It will be the fifth time the Wildcats come to Norfolk, but the first time playing in the Ted Constant Convocation Center having played all previous meetings at Old Dominion at the Fieldhouse, which is currently being torn down to make way for a new state-of-the-art recreation facility. Old Dominion is 4-0 at home against Kentucky, 2-1 in Lexington, and 1-0 in neutral site games. The Lady Monarchs faced the Wildcats at the C.Q. Data Systems Holiday Tournament in December of 1984 in the neutral site game, the same season Old Dominion won the NCAA Championship.
ABOUT KENTUCKY: The Kentucky Wildcats enter Saturday's game sporting a 1-1 record after opening the season at the Women's Sports Foundation Tournament in Lexington. The Wildcats produced a season opening 80-51 victory over Washington State, but dropped a 51-54 decision the following game to Indiana. Head coach Mickie DeMoss begins her fourth year at the helm of the Kentucky women's basketball program after guiding the Wildcats to the most wins (22) in seven years, the most Southeastern Conference wins in school history (9), the highest conference finish (4) in 23 years, and UK's first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in seven years last season. The 2006 SEC Coach of the Year should be familiar to long-time Lady Monarch fans. DeMoss was the top assistant for 18 years at Tennessee helping the Lady Vols to 13 Final Fours and six national championships. The Wildcats are led by in scoring by senior foward Jennifer Humphrey (11.5 ppg) and sophomore point guard Carly Ormerod (10.5 ppg). Junior center Sarah Elliott lead the rebounding department (10.0 rpg).
BREAKING DOWN THE OPENERS: The Lady Monarchs are 25-13 in season openers, suffering a 72-92 set back in this year's opener at Virginia. Of the previous 38 season openers, Old Dominion has opened the season three times with Virginia with a win in 1977, a loss in 2002 with the opening of ODU's Ted Constant Convocation Center, and a loss in 2006 at the opening of UVA's John Paul Jones Arena . In home openers, the Lady Monarchs are 27-10. Last season, Old Dominion opened the slate against the top-ranked team in the nation in Duke. The Lady Monarchs last home opening win was against Virginia Tech as Old Dominion opened the 2004-05 season with a 87-56 victory over the Hokies.
HOME SWEET HOME: Since the doors opened at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in 2002, the Lady Monarchs have enjoyed a 53-10 record.

KEEP SHOOTING PARTNER: Junior guard T.J. Jordan came off the bench in last Sunday's 72-92 loss at Virgina to net a team-high 21 points. Shooting 6-of-19 from the field, including 6-of-17 from three-point range, the third year Lady Monarch set new career-highs in field goals and three-pointers attempted. The Lady Monarchs' three-point specialist, she holds the single season three-point attempt mark (2005-06 - 248).
WHAT WILL IT TAKE FOR 500?: Head Coach Wendy Larry is rapidly approaching the 500 victory mark in her career. To date she needs thee victories to reach the mark. She currently holds a 497-183 overall record in her 23rd season as a head coach. Additionally, Coach Larry is approaching her 450th victory as the head coach at her alma mater. She holds a 448-152 record in her 20th season at the helm of the Old Dominion program.
UP NEXT: The Lady Monarchs continue their three-game home stand by hosting East Carolina on Tuesday, November 21 and Delaware State on Saturday, November 25th in a double header with the men's team. Old Dominion will be taking on the Pirates for the first time since they left the Colonial Athletic Association for Conference USA. The Delaware State game will be the first meeting between the two teams. Kentucky will get another taste of the CAA. They will take on Delaware at the Odwalla Classic in San Francisco, California.
