HIGH POINT, NC--Freshman Alexis Garduno finished in a tie for 5th place overall as the Old Dominion Lady Monarch golf team took a 9th place finish at the High Point Spring Invitational on Tuesday. Garduno followed up a first round 75 with a final round 81 to take 5th. As a team, the Lady Monarchs shot 670 overall at the Meadowlands Golf Course.
Methodist College won the tourney, holding a four stroke advantage over second place Western Carolina. Kandy Carland of Western Carolina and Katie Dick of Methodist both shot two round totals of 252, but Carland won in a playoff to capture individual medalist honors.
Next up for the Lady Monarchs are the CAA Championships taking place at the historic Pinehurst course starting April 13th.
