NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Newcomer Charleen Haarhoff (Durban, South Africa), and junior Fernanda Luiz (Nova Lima, Brazil) were named to All-CAA Women's Tennis Teams by a committee of the league's head coaches it was announced on the eve of the 2006 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Women's Tennis Tournament.

Haarhoff was named second team singles after recording a 21-5 overall mark in her first season with the Lady Monarchs. She captured a perfect 4-0 mark in her appearances at No. 1 singles and played her way to a 15-4 mark at the No. 2 spot.

Haarhoff was joined on the second team doubles squad with teammate Luiz. Together, the Lady Monarch duo posted a 19-4 overall record along with a 5-2 mark in CAA matches.

Luiz was named third team singles squad as well. The second year Lady Monarch went 20-7 during the 2006-07 dual meet season which included only one loss in CAA competition. In league matches, Luiz collected a 7-1 mark.

William & Mary junior Megan Moulton-Levy and VCU sophomore Marianna Yuferova were selected as Co-Women's tennis Players of the Year, while VCU sophomore Tatsiana Uvarova (Minsk, Belarus) and William & Mary freshman Katarina Zoricic were named the CAA co-Rookies of the Year and VCU's Paul Kostin the CAA Coach of the Year.

The awards were presented Thursday night prior to the quarterfinals of the 2006 CAA Women's Tennis Championship, which resumes Friday at the Huntington Park Tennis Center in Newport News. The tournament runs through Sunday, with the women's championship match set for 1:00 p.m. on April 23.
