ODU Wins Tenth Straight Game, 4-3 over GSU

ATLANTA, GA--Junior righthander Jason Godin (Stafford, VA.) tossed his second straight complete game, a five-hitter as Old Dominion (21-3/5-0) defeatedGeorgia State (9-10/2-3), 4-3 in a CAA contest. ODU has won ten straight games.

Godin gave up three runs to the Panthers in the first two innings. Jean-Michel Rochon-Salvas singled home Eric Suttle in the first inning. In the second, Aeden McQueary Ennis sacrifice fly plated Wesley Wilson, and Eric Suttles groundout scoredDusty Bennett.

ODU scored three runs in the top of the second as Patrick Nichols (Chesapeake, VA.) slammed another homerun, his tenth of the season with Dana Arrowood aboard. Jimmy Miles (Orlando,FL.) then singled home Chris Keenan (Chesapeake, VA.).

The Monarchs took the lead for good in the sixth as RBI leader Bryan Cipolla(Plainview, NY.) singled home Keenan who reached on a double. Godin allowed only one hit after the third inning. In all, he fanned nine batters to improve his record to 5-0. Patrick Nichols had three hits on the day to improve his batting average to .394. He is tied for the lead in the CAA in homers with ten. The two teams play the third and final game of the Series Sunday at 1:00.
