NORFOLK, VA--Old Dominion University senior forward Alex Loughton(Perth, Australia) has been named to the third team ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America squad as selected by the nation's Sports Information Director's.
Loughton who will graduate in May carries a 3.40 grade point average inbusiness marketing. Last year, he was named the CAA's Scholar Athlete of the Yearand the Athletic Director's Association's National Scholar Athlete for the secondyear in a row. He joins Kevin Larkin (94), Dave Moyer ('76), Reese Neyland ('78)and Gray Eubank ('75) as past Monarchs who have earned this honor.
Loughton currently is averaging 14.1 points, and 7.6 rebounds per game ashe and the Monarchs compete in the CAA Tournament beginning Saturday at 2:30p.m. against the Northeastern/James Madison winner. ODU is the fourth seed, anddefending champion.
