DAYTONA BEACH, FL-- Freshman Alexis Garduno (Sacramento, CA) helped usher in the Old Dominion Lady Monarchs spring golf season with a 9th place finish off of rounds of 80-84, as ODU finished in 6th place at the 2006 Bethune Cookman Spring Invitational. The event, held at the Indigo Lakes Golf Club in Daytona Beach, FL was won by Jacksonville University who shot a team total of 637. The Lady Monarchs scored a total of 708. Sophomore Bailey Mosier (Las Vegas, NV) played her first round of competitive golf in over a year and registered a 27th place effort off rounds of 90-91.
Gretchen Jewell of Stetson and Maria Dunne of Bethune Cookman tied for individual medallist honors after both shot 77-80 in their two rounds of play.
ODU returns to the course March 9th as they travel to Illinois to participate in the Springlake Tournament.
