Old Dominion Dominates James Madison

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Arnaud Dahi scored 14 points to lead four Old Dominion players in double figures Thursday night and the Monarchs beat James Madison 75-58. The victory gives the Monarchs itssecond straight 20-win season under head coach Blaine Taylor.

Alex Loughton added 13 points, Drew Williamson had 12 and Valdas Vasylius 11 for Old Dominion (20-8, 12-5 Colonial Athletic Association). The Monarchs led 41-32 at halftime after shooting 60 percent, and by as many as 23 points in the second half.

Williamson,who leads the CAA in best assist/turnover ratio for thesecond straight year dished out seven assists and committed only oneturnover. The four treys in a game is a career high for Drew.

Alex Loughton now has 1,587 career points and 899 career rebounds.He ranks 12th on ODU's all-time scoring list, just five behind KeithJackson ('93). In rebounding, Loughton is eighth.

It was the Monarchs' sixth consecutive victory in the series.

James Madison (5-21, 2-15) lost its fourth in a row. The Dukes were led by Daniel Freeman with 15 points and Juwann James with 11. No one else had more than six.

Old Dominion put the game away for good with a 10-0 run that made it 64-41 in the second half, and stayed in the top four in the league standings with a week to go.

The top four teams get first-round byes in the CAA tournament.

The Monarchs return to action on Saturday when they travel to Newark,DE. to take on Delaware in the final regular season game of the year.
