ATLANTA (AP) -- Alex Loughton scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Old Dominion to a 77-62 victory over Georgia State on Thursday night. It was the Monarchs fifth win in a row.
Old Dominion led 36-25 at halftime. The Panthers (3-10, 1-5 Colonial Athletic Association) came within 10 points in the second half, but never came any closer. The Monarchs (12-4, 5-1) went on a 7-0 run and built a 66-46 with seven minutes left in the second half.
Loughton also had two steals and two assists. It was his fifth double-double of the year.
Isaiah Hunter scored 11 points for Old Dominion. Valdas Vasylius and Drew Williamson added seven points eachwhile, John Morris, Abdi Lidonde and Sam Harris each scored five. Vasyliushauled down eight rebounds in his third straight start.
Malcolm Manier led Georgia State with 20 points and eight rebounds. Herman Favors scored 16 and Rashad Chase added 10.
ODU shot .526 (30-57) from the floor, while Georgia STate shot shot.328 (19-58). ODU outrebounded the Panthers, 39-34 and came up withseven steals.
ODU returns home to host the Rams of Virginia Commonwealth Saturdayat 12 noon in the Constant Center.
