LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) - Arnaud Dahi and Isaiah Hunter each had 20 points as Old Dominion beat VMI 77-62 Wednesday night.
Isaiah Hunter became the 41st Monarch to reach the 1,000 career pointmark. His jumper at the 4:23 mark of the first half put him over. Hunternow has 1,007 career points.
Dahi scored 15 of his 20 points during the second half for the Monarchs (4-1), who came back from a 31-30 halftime deficit for the win. Alex Loughton added 17.
The game was tied five times in the first half before Hunter sank two free-throws to go up 30-28 with 57 seconds left before the break. Reggie Williams made one of two free throws and Matt Murrer scored with 36 second left to put the Keydets (0-4) ahead at halftime.
VMI pulled ahead by seven off a three-point play by Hunter. It was tied twice more before Dahi's layup with 11:47 to go put the Monarchs up for good. They went on to lead by as many as 17.
Old Dominion controlled the boards 44-37, led by Loughton's 10 rebounds. It was Loughton's second double-double of the year.
Williams led the Keydets with 18, and Murrer and Chavis Holmes each had 12 points.
Brian Henderson dished out a career high eight assists, while DrewWilliamson had four steals and five assists for the Monarchs. ODUreturns home on Saturday for a 7 p.m. contest against the Piratesof East Carolina University.
