NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion field hockey team moved up three spots in the latest STX/NFHCA Poll as the Lady Monarchs head into the post-season ranked at No. 4. Old Dominion (15-5 overall, 8-0 CAA) return to action this weekend at the 2005 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Tournament to be played at Foreman Field.
The Lady Monarchs will receive a first-round bye along with second-seeded Northeastern, who finished with a 6-2 mark. Hofstra and James Madison tied for third place at 5-3, but the Pride defeated the Dukes last Friday to win the head-to-head tiebreaker for the # 3 seed. William & Mary solidified its #5 playoff spot with a shutout of Towson last Friday, and the Tigers bounced back on Sunday to defeat Drexel in overtime to shore up the final tourney invite.

Friday, Nov. 4
#4 James Madison vs. #5 William & Mary - 12:00 p.m.
#3 Hofstra vs. #6 Towson - 2:30 p.m.
Semifinals - Saturday, Nov. 5
#1 Old Dominion vs. JMU/W&M - 12:00 p.m.
#2 Northeastern vs. Hofstra/Towson - 2:30 p.m.
Championship - Sunday, Nov. 6 - 1:00 p.m.
Old Dominion, 12-time CAA Champions, are looking to reclaim the title and the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after falling in the semifinals to eventual conference champion Delaware last season. The Lady Monarchs are the only team in Division I history to appear in every NCAA Tournament since it began in 1981.
