GREENSBORO, NC - Richmond's Susan Darrah scored from 15 yards out with 6:39remaining in regulation to give the Spiders a 2-1 win over Old Dominion inwomen's soccer action at the 2005 UNCG Soccer Classic on Friday evening.
Darrah's unassisted goal at 83:21 broke a 1-1 tie. She gathered a looseball on the right side of the box and hit a blast into the net from 15yards out for her first goal of the year and the game-winner.
Old Dominion (2-1) had taken a 1-0 lead when Laura Beeman (Chalfont, PA) scored for the Lady Monarchs at the 12:45 mark. Beeman's unassisted goal was her fourth of the young season.
Richmond tied the match at 1-1 game at 18:39 when Carrie Holland scoredon a one-touch off a pass from Jessie Wolfe.
The score stayed that way until Darrah's goal with just under seven minutesleft. Kelly Kolker picked up the win for Richmond in goal, recording eight saves.
The Spiders (2-1) take on Oregon State on Sunday at 1 pm, while OldDominion will face tournament host UNC Greensboro on Sunday at 3:30 pm.
