ATLANTA, Ga. -- Old Dominion senior guard Shareese Grant (Va. Beach, Va.) continued to add to her already impressive list of accolades as she was named a Kodak/WBCA Honorable All-American on Saturday.

During her senior campaign, Grant, became the first student-athlete to earn three Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) "Most Outstanding Player" honors, and also earned nods to the All-CAA First Team and CAA All-Defensive Team. This past season the 5-8 guard from nearby Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach led the Lady Monarchs in scoring 13 times, recorded five 20 + point games, and reached double digit scoring 25 times.
Among all CAA student-athletes, Grant ranked fifth in scoring (15.1 ppg), third in field goal percentage (.474), third in assists (4.20 apg),fourth in free throw percentage (.814), eighth in steals (2.20 spg)and first in assist/turnover ratio (1.30).
She poured in a career-high 35 points in the CAA Championship game en-route to her third CAA "Most Outstanding Player" trophy. Her performance helped the Lady Monarchs to a second-half surge against Delaware and force overtime where Old Dominion went on to capture its NCAA record 14th straight conference title and send the Lady Monarchs dancing to the NCAA Tournament for the 22nd time in school history.
A two-time CAA Player of the Week, Grant earned her first weekly honor back on November 29th after she averaged 20 points per game against ACC opponents Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech and scored her 1,000th career point in an Old Dominion uniform becoming the 24th Lady Monarch to reach the feat. Then back on December 6th, she led Old Dominion to two victories, a 30 + point victory over East Tennessee State and a 69-61 win over #16/19 Rutgers. Grant led all scorers in the 86-52 win over the Lady Bucs as Old Dominion posted back-to-back 30- point wins for the first time since the 2001-02 season. Grant then led all scorers with 21 points against a ranked Scarlet Knight squad to give Old Dominion its tird victory over a ranked opponent at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.
Grant has left her mark in the Old Dominion records books in several places. She set a new Lady Monarch record with 17 free throws made in agame reseting the record held by Nancy Lieberman that was setback on January 10, 1978. Additionally, she ranks 15th on the all-time scoring leaders list with 1,447 career points and eighth on the all-time assists list with 376 career dishes.
