Old Dominion Edges Hofstra 67-66 for Fifth Straight Win

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) - Kiah Thomas' 3-pointer with 1:25 left lifted OldDominion to its fifth straight victory, 67-66 over Hofstra on Wednesday night.

Hofstra (10-5, 2-4 Colonial Athletic Association) grabbed a 66-64 lead on a3 by Antoine Agudio that closed an 8-2 run with 2:18 remaining.

The Pride went ahead 54-49 at 11:02 on a layup by Loren Stokes, but OldDominion used a 13-4 run - capped by Drew Williamson's 3-pointer - to take a62-58 lead at 7:57.

The victory was the 200th in Blaine Taylor's 11-year coaching career. He isin his fourth season at Old Dominion after seven at Montana.

Alex Loughton, who shot 9-for-16 topped the Monarchs (16-2, 6-0) with 19points. Williamson followed with 15, and Isaiah Hunter had 13.

Stokes, who made 8 of 16 shots, scored a game-high 21 points for Hofstra,which has lost five of six following a 9-0 start.

Agudio had 18 points, and Adrian Uter pulled down 13 rebounds to go with hisseven points. Hofstra outrebouned ODU, 42-27, but theMonarchs forced the Pride into 21 turnovers and came up with13 steals.

The Monarchs return home to host UNC Wilmington on Saturday nightat 7 p.m. in the Ted Constant Convocation Center.
