Monarchs Host Longwood Tonight

The Old Dominion University Monarchs (9-1) host Longwood UniversityLancers (1-11) tonight at 7 p.m. in the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

ODU sophomore Arnaud Dahi was named CAA Player of the Week today and theMonarchs moved up to fifth in the latest collegeinsider.com Midmajortop 25.

This is the first meeting between the two teams. Longwood is an NCAADivision I independent. The Lancers are led in scoring by 6-3 MichaelJefferson at 13.8 points, followed by 6-5 Maurice Sumter at 11.6 and6-6 Lamar Barrett at 10.8. Longwood won their first game Saturday nightwith a 75-69 win over Howard.

The Monarchs are off to their best start in Division I history andbest overall start since the 1969-70 season. ODU defeated two-timedefending Southern COnference Champion East Tennessee State, 86-65Saturday night as Arnaud Dahi and Alex Loughton each scored 17points followed by Isaiah Hunter with 16.

ODU hosts Saint Joseph's Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
