NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Arnaud Dahi and Alex Loughton scored 17 points apiece,and Old Dominion shot 56 percent from the field Saturday night as the Monarchsdefeated East Tennessee State 86-65.
Loughton had two field goals as Old Dominion (9-1) opened the game with a14-2 run. The Monarchs maintained a double-digit lead for the rest of the game.The final score was the largest margin. This is ODU's best start sincethe 1969-70 season.
Old Dominion outrebounded the Bucs (3-6) 33-22, had 15 steals and blockedseven shots.
Isaiah Hunter added 16 points and Drew Williamson a career high 11 for the Monarchs.
Arnaud Dahi hit his first eight shots from the field as he went 8-for-9on the night. The Monarchs dished out a season high 28 assists asDrew Williamson led with six and Kiah Thomas had five. FreshmanBrandon Johnson alos had four assists and four steals.
Tim Smith led ETSU with 18 points. James Anthony scored 15, and ChrisMitchell came off the bench to score 11 on 5-of-7 shooting. ETSUmade several runs, cutting the Monarch lead to ten, 57-47 with12:00 left, but after the timeout, John Morris nailed two straighttreys for ODU.
The Monarchs host Longwood on Monday night at 7 p.m.
