LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) - Kiah Thomas scored 15 points to lead four Monarchs indouble figures as Old Dominion defeated Liberty 70-54 on Tuesday night.

Valdas Vasylius came off the Monarchs' bench to score 14 points, hitting a career high 10of 12 free throws. Arnaud Dahi had 11 and Alex Loughton added 10 for OldDominion (7-1).The Monarchs outscored the Flames, 25-9 in the final11:44.

Larry Blair scored 31 points for the Flames (1-4) and David Dees had eight.

Old Dominion built a lead of 10 with 3:07 left in the first half, but theFlames narrowed the margin to 35-31 at intermission.

The Monarchs went ahead for good at 45-45 on Dahi's free throw with 11:54left in the game.

Old Dominion outrebounded Liberty 38 to 27. Alex Loughton ledthe Monarchs with seven rebounds, while Vasylius added six.Dahi also blocked three shots and came up with a steal.

The Monarchs came up with 11 steals on the night as Isaiah Hunterled with three, while Brandon Johnson and Vasylius had two each.

The Monarchs return to action on Sunday when they travel to Greenville,NC. to play at East Carolina. Game time is 1:30 p.m. ODU iscurrently ranked 11th among mid majors by COLLEGEINSIDER.COM., and pickedup 15 votes in the USA TODAY POLL.
