CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) - Thomas Bailey scored 17 points as TexasA&M-Corpus Christi defeated Old Dominion 71-67 on Sunday in the Corpus ChristiCaller-Times Challenge.
The score was tied 35-35 at the half.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (4-1) made 10-of-10 free throws in the final fiveminutes. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi shot 52 percent for the game, while OldDominion (4-1) shot 47 percent.
The Monarchs, Kent State and Texas A&M Corpus Christi each finished with3-1 records in the classic, but ODU wins the tournament on the tie-breaker as they allowed fewer points in the four games.Isaiah Hunter was named the tournament MVP while teammates Arnaud Dahi and Alex Loughton joined him on the All-Tournament team.
Bailey made 6-of-8 field goals. Travis Bailey scored 14 points for theIslanders and Corey Stokes, who scored 13 points, made 9-of-11 free throws.
Arnaud Dahi led Old Dominion with 17 points. He made 7-of-12 field goals.
The Islanders were 24-32 from the free throw line, while ODU got justfive free throw attempts, making two.
The Monarchs return to action on Wednesday night when they hostVirginia Military Institute at 7 p.m. in the Constant Center.
