RICHMOND, VA-- Third seeded Old Dominion exploded for three second-half goals by Kyle Hartley, Kevin McMenamin, and Edson Elcock to defeat #2James Madison, 3-1 in the semifinals of the CAA Men's Soccer Championshipon a rainy Friday night at VCU's Sports Backers Stadium.

The victory moved the Monarchs (13-4-2) into the CAA Championship gamefor the first time since 1993. ODU will face #5 Hofstra, which upset #1Virginia Commonwealth 1-0 in the first semi-final game, at 2 p.m. Sunday.JMU dropped to 15-3-1, with two of its three losses coming to ODU.

The Dukes jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 1:31 into the contest. SophomoreKurt Morsink fed a pass to Mark Totten, who drove in the right side ofthe box and fired a hard 10-yard shot into the lower right corner of thenet.

Momentum changed in the second half as ODU scored the equalizer just14 seconds into the period. Senior Kevon Harris (Kingston, Jamaica) foundKyle Hartley (Va.Beach, VA.) alone at the top of the six-yard box, wherehe put a quick move on JMU goalkeeper Kevin Trapp and fired into theopen net.

ODU kept the pressure on and grabbed the lead six minutes later. KyleHarley sent a pass along the left side to Senior Kevin McMenamin (West Springfield, MA.), who streaked into the box and send a 12-yard shot into the lower right corner to put ODU up, 2-1.

The Monarchs tacked on an insurance goal in the 77th minute. SophomoreEdson Elcock (Brooklyn, NY.) took a pass from junior Brian Cvilikas(Highlands Ranch, Co.) in the middle of the box, turned and launched atough left-footed shot inside the left post.

ODU outshot JMU, 13-8, including 10-3 in the second half. The three goalswere the most allowed by JMU, which limited 17 of its 19 foes to onegoal or less.
