NORFOLK, Va. -- Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Preseason Player of the Year, Alex Loughton (Perth, Australia) poured in a game-high 15 points as 10 of the 11 Monarchs netted points in Old Dominion's 82-33 victory over Carleton University from Canada in their final exhibition test before opening the regular season against South Alabama on November 20th.
Carleton was held to 14 points in the first half, 19 points in the second, and shot just 22.4 percent from the field. The Ravens were led by eight points off the bench by Stuart Turnbull.
Each Monarch saw double figure minutes in the victory. Sophomore Arnaud Dahi (Ivory Coast, Africa) grabbed a game-high nine rebounds, while starting guard Drew Williamson (Burlington, N.C.) dished out a game-high five assists, and rookie Brandon Johnson (Orlando, Fla.) recorded five steals.
Old Dominion led 35-14 at the half and held as much as a 54-point led with just under a minute to play in the game. Carleton got no closer than 21-points in the early minutes of the second half as the Monarchs raced out on a 19-4 run to open half number two.
The Monarchs return to action in their regular season against old Sunbelt Conference rival South Alabama at the Ted Constant Convocation Center on Saturday, November 20th at 7:00 p.m. Carleton travels to the University of Maryland on Saturday.
