WILLIAMSBURG,VA-- Mary MacKenzie Grier netted a goal with a header in the16th minute of the match to lead third seed William and Mary to a 1-0victory over sixth seed ODU in a CAA quarterfinal match.
The Lady Monarchs finished the season at 9-8-2, while William and Maryimproves to 10-5-4 and advances to the semi-final round on Friday atVirginia Commonwealth University's Sportsbacker Stadium.
The lone goal was MacKenzie Grier's first of her career and came off aheader from a corner kick.
The Tribe outshot ODU, 10-1 and had five corner kicks. Kellie Fentongot the shutout. ODU's Stephanie Miller had three saves on the evening.
