WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Sophomore Gregory Sampson (Warren, RI.) is in second place just two strokes off the lead and ODU is tied for third with George Washington at 303 after the first round of the W&M/Kingsmill Invite.
Sampson shot a 36 on the front nine and 34 on the second and trails John Pelet ofRichmond by two strokes. Sampson had back-to-back birdies on 15 and 16. Adam Condello (Fairport, NY.) is tied for 24th with a 76, and Leighton Harris (Durban, South Africa) shot a 77 and is tied for 28th . The University of Richmond leads the tournament field with a 294 score. The final round will be played on Tuesday.
