WASHINGTON, DC-George Washington (3-6) scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to take an 8-6 victory over Old Dominion Tuesday afternoon. Freshman firstbaseman Bryan Cipolla (Plainview, NY.), this week's CAA's Rookie of the Week scored a run and hit a two-run homer for the Monarchs(5-6). Cipolla hit .600 last week.

With the score tied at four, Tom Shanley doubled home Matt Owens. AnthonyRaglani then singled home Shanley. Geoff Milsom doubled home Raglani and AnthonySmith's sacrifice fly plated Ryan Roberson to give the Colonials a 8-4 lead.

ODU got on the board first in the third as Kenneth Gram (Tempe, AZ) singled and scored on C.J. Lee's (Bristol, VA.) groundout. In the fourth inning after Justin Gregula (Washington, Pa.) walked, Bryan Cipolla, The CAA's Rookie of the Week hit his first collegiate homer. In the seventh inning Allen Strick (Glen Burnie, MD.) hit a solo homer to tie the game at four. ODU closed the gap to 8-6 when Ricky Shefka (Kinston, NC.) slammed a two run homer with Cipolla aboard.

The Monarchs return to action on Wednesday when they host crosstown rivalNorfolk State at 3 p.m.
