HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. - Old Dominion University junior Adam Condello (Fairport, NY) finished with a 54 hole score of 224 To tie for fifth at the Birkdale Collegiate Classic near Charlotte, NC. As a team, ODU placed ninth in the 15-team event. Gregory Sampson (Warren, RI) placed 28th with a 231.
Central Florida rallied from fifth place to win the event by one-shot over UNC Wilmington. UNC Greensboro finished third at 909, while Charlotte was fourth at 910.
UNCG's Andy Bare won the individual title in a three-way playoff. Bare finished at six-over 222 along with Charlotte's Matt Mincer and Wofford's Daniel Sloan. Sloan was eliminated on the first playoff hole and Bare ended the playoff on the second hole with a birdie.
The Monarchs return to action March 22-23 at the William and MaryKingsmill Invitational.
