NORFOLK, VA -The Old Dominion Wrestling team will compete in the 2nd Annual Brute "Beast of the East" Collegiate Invitational tournament, held in Newark, DE, Friday. This will be the 11th overall year of the event. The tournament is an all-day event, which will showcase 18 of the top wrestling programs in the nation, including four Colonial Athletic Association schools.
ODU comes into the tournament after impressive performances at the ODU Invitational and the Rubbermaid Open on the campus of North Carolina, taking eight of the 10 weight classes in the Invitational and placing four wrestlers in North Carolina. Jesse Pearce (Norfolk, VA) led the way at the Rubbermaid Open, placing 2nd, falling only to the #3 ranked wrestler by InterMat, Ohio's Jake Percival.
