WILLIAMSBURG, VA-- The Old Dominion University Soccer Monarchs and William and Mary battled to a 1-1 tie Saturday evening. With the tie, ODU (14-2-1/6-2-1 CAA) ranked #6 By Soccer America, #7 by College Soccer News, #8 by Soccer Times and #14 by NSCAA Coaches Poll will be the number two seed in next week's CAAChampionships and will get a bye into Friday's semi-finals along with top seed VCU.

The Monarchs scored first as sophomore Brian Cvilikas (Highlands Ranch, CO.)Scored with 31:28 left in the half. The Tribe tied the match 15 minutes later as PatrickScherder scored on an assist from Bryan Hinkle.

The Monarchs played tonight without defensive standouts Trevor McEachron(Woodbridge, VA.) and Ian Kaila (Fredericksburg, VA.) who are out for the rest ofthe season with ACL injuries from last week's games at James Madison and GeorgeMason.

ODU outshot the Tribe, 19-18 as Monarch senior goalkeeper, Sam Cameron(Raleigh, NC.) had four saves. Attila Vendegh led ODU with six shot attempts.

The CAA quarterfinals will begin Tuesday at the home sites of the #3 and#4 seeds. The semi-finals and championship will be held in Richmond, VA., atVCU Nov. 14 and 16.
