Monarchs host team from Lithuania Saturday night

NORFOLK, VA.-- The Old Dominion University Monarch cagers play host to BC Sakalaifrom Lithuania Saturday night in their final exhibition game. Game time is 7 p.m.in the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

BC Sakalai has played four game already, losing to Texas Christian, 101-66;SMU 89-83, Missouri 85-76 and South Carolina 81-62. Their top scorer is 6-3guard Rolandas Skaisgirys who is averaging 12.5 points per game. He scored 20against SMU. 6-8 center Rolandas Matulis is averaging 8.2 points and 6.0rebounds per game.

In ODU's 106-65 exhibition win last Sunday against E.A. Sports East All-stars,John Waller (Richmond, VA.) led the way with 26 points on 4-of-5 shooting fromthree-point range. The Monarchs hit 13-21 from the trey area (.691). IsaiahHunter (Charlotte, NC.) scored 17 points, Alex Loughton (Perth, Australia) andTroy Nance (Va. Beach, VA.) each scored 13 while Valdas Vasylius (Klaipeda,Lithuana) scored 11 points.

The Monarchs open the regular season on Nov.22 in Chapel Hill against the Universityof North Carolina.
