ABOUT THE OPPONENT:

Maryland: The Maryland Terrapins have been ranked in the top five all-season longas they enter Saturday's game with the Lady Monarchs with a 12-2 overall and2-2 ACCmark. After suffering a disappointing3-1 setback at then-No. 4 Duke last week, the Terps are looking to get back ontrack. Maryland has been tough to beat athome, owning an 8-1 record this season at their new Field Hockey Complex. During Saturday's game, the Terps will alsomark the 10-year anniversary of Maryland's national championship run in 1993.Maryland is led by the nations' seventh leading scorer in freshmen phenom PaulaInfante. Infante has 34 points on theyear with 14 goals and six assists, which include the game-winning goals in theTerps' 2-1 victory in Norfolk earlier this season. Sophomore forward Jackie Ciconte checks in as Maryland's secondleading scorer accumulating 28 points and 14 goals. In net, sophomore Tori Cano has gotten the starting nod in all 14games thus far posting a 1.16 goals against average to go along with her .667save percentage.

Princeton: The Princeton Tigers enter this weekend with a 7-3 overall and4-0 Ivy League record after defeating Rutgers 3-1 and dropping a 1-2 decisionto then #11 Connecticut last weekend.The Tigers will face league rival Brown on Saturday before squaring offagainst the Lady Monarchs in the first of two meetings. Old Dominion and Princeton will face eachother again as the Lady Monarchs close out the regular season with a Sunday,November 2nd match-up at Foreman Field in Norfolk. Claire Miller and Lizzie Black lead the wayfor the Tigers through the first 10 games of the season. Miller leads the squad with 14 points on sixgoals and two assists, while Black enters the weekend with 13 points off offive goals and three assists. Allison Nemeth and Juliana Simon have beensharing duties in the Tiger net.Nemeth, who owns a 5-0 record in the cage, holds a 0.95 goals againstaverage and a .783 save percentage.Simon is 2-3 on the year as the Princeton netminders with a 2.45 goalsagainst average and a .667 save percentage.

THE RANKED ROAD AHEAD:

TheLady Monarch field hockey team has just six games left in the 2003 regularseason. And among those six games,includes two match-ups with #11 Princeton and three Top 10 opponents inMaryland, Michigan, and North Carolina.Old Dominion also has just one more conference match-up to go. Old Dominion will look to cap off an undefeatedCAA season against Virginia Commonwealth in Richmond on Sunday, October 26th.

CAA STREAK:

The Lady Monarchs have not lost a CAA contest sincea 1-2 loss to James Madison in the championship game of the 1995 CAATournament. Since then, Old Dominionhas won 44 regular season games and 14 CAA Tournament games for a grand totalof 58 consecutive conference wins.

SHUTOUTS:

The Lady Monarchs began the CAA schedule outscoringtheir opponents 12-0, before the Drexel Dragons finally got one into the pipesOctober 5th. Old Dominion prevailedwith a 3-1 outcome and are outscoring their conferences rivals 30-6 thus far.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK:

Angie Loy (September 15th):

Loy helped lead the Lady Monarchs to a pair of winover nationally ranked opponents, which included a 3-0 shutout in the CAAopening win over William & Mary and a 4-2 victory over #10 Connecticut. Loytotaled three goals and two assists on the week. She had a hand in all three ofthe Lady Monarchs goals against the Tribe, scoring two and assisting on theother. Defensively, Loy helped Old Dominion to their first shutout of the 2003season. Again the 10th-ranked Huskies, Loy registered a goal and assist.

Anna Rogers (September 26th):

Rogers piled up nine points on the weekend on four goalsand two assists on two games. Shetallied two goals, including the game-winner, and had an assist in leading OldDominion to its 4-1 victory over the 12th ranked Virginia Cavaliersand also scored a pair of goals in the Lady Monarchs' second shutout win of theyear, a 5-0 win over the James Madison Dukes. In eight games before theweekend, Rogers had just one goal on the season.

ANGIELOY (October 13th):

Loyadded to her league-leading point total collecting seven points in two LadyMonarchs' victories. Loy was one of nine different goal scorers in ODU's 11-0victory over Towson and added a goal and three assists in the Lady Monarchs'thrilling 6-5 overtime win over #11 Delaware. Loy found CAA Rookie of the Week in the first extra session forthe game-winning assist that extended ODU's CAA winning streak to 58 games.

RACHELDAUBERT (October 13th):

Daubert knocked in thegame-winning goal with 12.9 seconds remaining in the first overtime period inthe Lady Monarchs' 6-5 overtime win over #11 Delaware. Daubert's goal stretchedOld Dominion's winning streak to six games and extended its CAA win streak to58 games. In the Lady Monarchs' 11-0 win over Towson, Daubert scored two goals,the first two of her collegiate career, and was one of nine different LadyMonarchs to score in the game.
