NORFOLK, VA - For the eighth straight game this season, the fourth-ranked Old Dominion men's soccer team allowed no goals, in defeating Campbell 5-0. Kevon Harris (Kingston, Jamaica) scored his first two goals of the season in the game, and Attila Vendegh (Bratislava, Slovakia) also had two goals to record his team-leading fifth and sixth goals of the season. Vendegh, the CAA all-time scorer, now has 52 career goals.
Kevon Harris scored the first Monarch goal a little over mid-way into the first half, from an assist by Ado Fazlic (Richmond, VA). Attila Vendegh added a second ODU goal nearly five minutes later. In the second half, Trevor McEachron (Woodbridge, VA) scored his third goal of the season from an assist by Ross Mackenzie (Richmond, VA). Harris and Vendegh scored the next two goals respectively to lead the Monarch effort.
Senior Monarch goalkeeper Samuel Cameron (Raleigh, NC) earned his seventh shutout of the season and has still not allowed a goal this season. He had two saves for the game. ODU out-shot Campbell 20-12 and had six corner kicks to Campbell's three. The fourth-ranked Monarchs have a 10-day break before starting CAA play at home Friday, Oct. 10, at 7:00 PM. The opponent will be UNC-Wilmington.
