ABOUT THE OPPONENT:

James Madison: The Dukes of James Madison have struggled early in the 2003 seasonowning a 2-7 overall mark entering Saturday's game against the LadyMonarchs. Saturday will mark the Dukes'CAA opener. Last week, James Madisonpicked up their second win of the season defeating in-state rival Radford, 4-1. The Dukes have played a tough schedule todate which includes five ranked teams, among them #13 Northeastern, #4 Duke, #12Virginia, #2 North Carolina, and top-ranked Wake Forest. Senior forward Janelle Perlis leads hersquad with three goals and two assists, while fellow forward junior AlissaSantanna sits right behind her teammate in the stats column with three goalsand an assist. In net Lauren Hartzlerhas posted 38 saves along with a 5.02 goals against average and a .500 savepercentage.

Both losses havecome at the hands of nationally ranked teams with a 3-2 setback to #10Princeton and a 5-1 loss to #2 North Carolina.The Cavaliers have already faced two other CAA teams and emerged withvictories - a 2-1 win over Drexel in extra time and a 3-2 win over JamesMadison. Sophomore midfielder AllisonFlynn leads the team with nine points on four goals and an assist, closelyfollowed by senior forward Katie Nicholson with three goals, two assists, andeight points. Loy helped lead the Lady Monarchs to a pair of winover nationally ranked opponents last week, which included a 3-0 shutout in theCAA opening win over William & Mary and a 4-2 victory over #10 Connecticut.Loy totaled three goals and two assists on the week. She had a hand in allthree of the Lady Monarchs goals against the Tribe, scoring two and assistingon the other. Defensively, Loy helped Old Dominion to their first shutout ofthe 2003 season.
