NORFOLK, VA. -- Angie Loy (Loysville, PA.) scored two second half goalsto lead sixth ranked Old Dominion University to a 3-0 victory over #18 William and Maryin a Colonial Athletic Association field hockey match. Both teams are now 3-2.
After a scoreless first half, Loy scored with 22:43 left in the match. With 10:13left Loy scored on a play off a corner with an assist fron Melissa Leonetti (Erdenheim, PA.).The third and final goal came a minute later as Janelle Engle (Mt. Joy, PA.) scored onan assist from Angie Loy.
Old Dominion outshot William and Mary, 16-3. Senior goalkeeper Tina Walker(Suffolk, VA.) picked up the shutout. The Tribe's first half goalkeeper Stacey Gaenzle hadthree saves, while second half keeper Heather Kibbee registered two.
The Lady Monarchs return to action on Sunday with a 1 p.m. match against #10UCONN. The Huskies defeated Stanford earlier this morning, 4-0 as Lauren Hendersonand Mary Jo Malone each scored goals for the Huskies. William and Mary returns to actionon Sunday at Richmond, beginning at 2 p.m.
