GREENSBORO, NC- Rakel Logadottir's goal two minutes into the secondsudden death overtime period lifted the Spartans of UNC Greensboro to a 4-3 double overtimevictory over Old Dominion in the season opener for both. Laura Beeman (Chalfont, PA.)Scored two goals for ODU, including one (on a penalty kick) with 29:50 left in regulation witch tied the match at three.
Beeman's first goal came at the 35th minute of the first half. The other ODU goal came onan own goal. ODU's goalkeeper Stephanie Miller (Plymouth Meeting, PA) came up with eight saves in 107-plus minutes of play. UNCG's also got goals from Tracey Withrow and Tiffany Renard.
The Lady Monarchs return to action next weekend when they travel to Raleigh, NCto play Villanova and Tulane in the N.C. State tournament.
