Jacqueline Bak Named Monarch Swimming Assistant Coach

NORFOLK, VA -- Jacqueline Bak, the former head coach at Youngstown State University and a member of the USA Swimming Olympic Staff for the upcoming 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece, was named an assistant of the Old Dominion swimming and diving teams, it was announced by Monarch head coach Carol Withus.

Bak served as an assistant coach at American and nationally ranked Texas A&M before taking over the reigns at Youngstown State. While at Youngstown State, Bak's teams improved from a 2-7 record to a 7-4 mark in two seasons.

Also heavily involved with swimming on both the club and national levels, Bak, a former intern with USA Swimming, has been a USA Swimming staff member at the 2003 World Championships in Barcelona, Spain and the 2002 World Championships in Moscow, Russia. Bak has also served with the USA Swimming National Distance Training Camp and the USA Swimming Open Water National staff. Currently, she heads the Penguin Swimming Club in Youngstown, Ohio.

Bak graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1992 with a degree in history and completed her masters degree in 1998 at American University.
