The Old Dominion women's sailing team finished third on Wednesday at the 2003 ICSA Women's North American Championship with 195 total points. Tufts University won the title finishing with 160 points, 14 ahead of second place St. Mary's College (MD).

ODU's Corrie Clement (Metarie, LA) and Liz Bower (Fairport, NY) led the A division squad to a second place finish with 78 points while Anna Tunnicliffe (Perrysburg, OH) and Anna Cobb (Mechanicsville, VA) took fifth in the B division with 117 points. The Lady Monarchs won the title last year in Hawaii.

Tufts held the lead throughout the regatta as St. Mary's could only get to within nine points late in the competition on Wednesday. A fifth place finish in the last race secured Tufts their eighth Women's North American Championship.

"This was a great regatta", said ICSA President and ODU head coach Mitch Brindley. "Therewas a variety of winds and challenging conditions, and it was a great test of skill."

In the fall season, Anna Tunnicliffe won the ICSA National Championship with Corrie Clementtaking fifth.
