NORFOLK, VA. - Senior catcher Justin Riley knocked in the first four runs of thegame, including a go ahead two-run single in the fourth to put #8 N.C. State (31-8) up for good in a 9-5 win over Old Dominion (12-22) Wednesday evening at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex.

Riley slammed a two-run homer in the first with Jeremy Dutton aboard to give theWolfpack a 2-0 lead. ODU scored one in the first on a sacrifice fly RBI by Brandon LeNior.The Monarchs then took a 3-2 lead in the second as Evan Chipman hit his first home run ofthe season with freshman Justin Gregula aboard.

N.C. State scored four in the fifth thanks to six straight hits to go up 8-3. In thatinning Lee Mezistrano, Matt Camp, Adam Hargrave, and Marc Maynor each knocked ina run. David Hicks later hit a solo home run in the eighth for the Wolfpac.

ODU scored a run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Michael Koppin, then BrandonLeNoir knocked in his second run of the evening on a bases loaded walk in the seventh.

Justin Riley had three hits and four runs batted in for N.C. State while Marc Maynor,David Hicks, Matt Camp and Chad Orvella each had two hits on the evening. Phillip Davidson picked up his third win of the season with five innings of work.

Evan Chipman led ODU with three hits, three runs scored and he stole his 17th baseof the year which ranks him second in the CAA. N.C. State travels to Virginia for a three-game ACC series, while ODU hosts William and Mary beginning Friday in a three-gameCAA series.
