NORFOLK, VA. - Brandon Le Noir (Ocala, FL.) scored the game winner asJoe Moore (Woodbridge, VA.) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and one outto give the Monarchs of Old Dominion a 4-3 10 inning victory over 12th ranked RichmondTuesday afternoon. The loss was the Spiders first of the season(5-1) and ended ODU'sthree-game losing streak (5-5).

In the bottom of the tenth, Le Noir walked with one out. Brent Sollenberger (Chambersburg, PA.) followed with a double over third base. After John Oehler (Audubon, NJ.)was intentionally walked, Joe More was hit with a pitch by losing pitcher Matt McLoughlinforcing home Le Noir and giving the Monarchs the victory.

ODU scored three runs in the first inning as freshman Keith Hahn (Valley Stream, NY.)scored from third on a wild pitch. Brent Sollenberger doubled home Le Noir and AllenStrick (Glen Burnie, MD.) for the other two Monarch runs.

The Spiders, who lost to Nebraska in the best of three series in last year's NCAA Super Regional got solo home runs in the first and third innings from Ben Zeskind. The third basemancame into the game leading Richmond with a .533 batting average. Richmond tied the gamein the eighth inning as Bryan Pritz who pinch ran for Vito Chiaravalloti scored as MichaelGalligan broke up ODU's double-play attempt by beating out the throw to first.

Kevin Evans(Shamong, NJ.) picked up his second win in relief for ODU. He fannedthree in three innings of work. Brent Sollenberger led ODU with four hits on the day and two runs batted in which gives him a .353 batting average. Richmond was led by Jim Fasano with four hits and Ben Zeskind with three hits. ODU travels to #19 Clemson for a three-game series beginning on Friday, while Richmond hosts VMI on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
